Hey, You

Hey you,

Belated 10th. I know we don’t talk as much as we used to and I’m not running home to get on my pc and write on you as much as before but I’d have you know that if you were a person, I’d hug you. If you were a good looking male, I’d probably sleep with you and make you my boyfriend because that’s what you’ve been like to me for a past 10 years. Scratch that, you’re better than a boyfriend- you never talk back.

Thanks for existing [well actually, thank my 14 year old self for creating you] and for reminding me that life doesn’t actually suck and it’s sucked much worse before but I still made it through that.

You’re 24 now AnD YoU No LonGeR TaWk LaYk DiZ. You’re a little more sophisticated, you pay rent, bring home the bacon and hopefully by next year, you’ve been able to travel the world at least a little bit. The dreams you wrote about 10 years ago may or may not have come true yet or ever but you’re still pretty goddamn fabulous, sailor mouth and everything.

So happy birthday, aa_bebe_phat_aa. You’re literally a dump… but you’re mine. ❤

The One with The Extremely Lax 10 Year Celebration

Like they say, it’s better late than never. I had originally set this to go live on the eve of my blogging “career’s” 10th year birthday but I was too busy living in the real world to make this post.

So I guess this year’s resolution ought to be: to be more punctual but to live a more meaningful life while documenting it as necessary as possible. Or you know, whatever.

So to continue…

I have a thing for traditions. I used to love them soo much but I’ve eventually killed most of them off but kept this one- just because.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! I’ve been blogging for 10 wonderful, crazy years!! WHERE’S MY AWARD?!

If you click the years below, you will be able to see the changes I’ve made along the years with every answer. In the past 10 years, I’ve had 3 boyfriends, a million jobs, graduated grade school, high school AND college, traveled, moved in and moved out, started smoking, stopped smoking, started smoking again, gotten drunk and what not. Every time I look back on my past selves I admit; I feel repulsed, amused but always with a sense of empowerment. So enjoy everyone!! The tradition truly lives on!

1. Will you be looking for a new job?

Ironically, last year I was in love with a job I currently hate so I guess life really is full of surprises.

I like my NEW job and I intend to open up a few businesses so hopefully next year, I’ll be able to say that it was a success!

2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?

HEEEE. NO. :>

3. New house?

Maybe, maybe not. BUT IN YOUR FACE 2013, I MOVED OUT!

4. What will you do different in 14?

Be more diligent with work and business but will also to be sure to reward myself by traveling more.

5. New Years’ resolutions?

MAYBE TO EAT HEALTHIER!

And to work out. I’m going to sign up to the gym… ON MONDAY!

Pinkish

Shutting my doors to the possibilities of anything.

To never lose the fire to want the extraordinary!

Lazy

It’s been an amazing ride and I’d like to thank everyone who made my 2014 as perfect as it was!

Unfortunately, I’m such an internet spazz that I wasn’t able to properly link and back up my photos from when I officially started blogging under Issaplease. This explains ALL the broken images on this site. I promise, 2015 will be better- I promise and I’ll try to fix the clutter :> I’m “smarter” now.

Thanks to everyone who’s been supporting my blog for the longest time ever! To all the friends I’ve made, the jobs I’ve gotten, the brands I’ve worked with and to all the lessons I’ve learned.

Fly Me To The Moon and Back

I started writing as a way to get over my depression and 10 years after, here I still am- no longer depressed but still writing my heart out and still making you guys laugh and smile at all the stupid sh*t I have to say. I am always grateful for that.

This blog is truly the biggest thing that I can ever leave this world and if you ever wanted to know who I really was: crazy, neurotic and a down right pain in the ass; you’d find it all if you skimmed through the pages of this blog that I ever so openly brag about and onIssatalks, where all the magic started.

I’m not going to skim through 2014 anymore like in my older posts because it’s already the 3rd of the new year and seriously, whose got the time for that anymore?! But rest assured, it was an amazing year and I so glad to have spent it with all of you!

LOVE YOU ALL,

Just My Luck

So the first week I move out and there are reports about a killer typhoon that is set to hit the SOUTH of Cebu… Hello, Carcar.

But it’s still pretty much sunny outside so I’m going to make the most out of the little time I have by going to the bank and then the parlor. So much stuff to do, I haven’t even gone out and bought curtains for my room yet!

Ok, I really shouldn’t be blogging right now.

But in case I die… I love my family and someone should get a pug in my memory.

Bye!

Today Was An Emotional Day

Today I moved out of my mom’s house and into my new apartment all the way down in big, bad Carcar.

I’m currently 1 hour and 30 minutes away from the city by car or bus and I have no friends here other than Paolo’s staff and my landlord.

I’m staying in a quaint little room that I intend to KEEP bohemian themed and chic as ever.

It’s been a wild journey and I can’t believe that things are finally happening. It’s been some ride.

I guess that every time you gain something, you will always, without fail, have to give something else up.

I’m happy and I’m sad and I’m nervous but most of all, I need to learn how to wash my own underwear.

xx,

Issa

I Know I’m Like The Biggest Hypocrite Right Now But…

Thank you God, Thank you God, Thank you God!!!

Whether I believe you exist or not, you have never forsaken me. You keep giving and giving even when I have nothing to give you- even when I did not want to give you anything.

Thank you for being that light out of the darkness.

I was in a really bad place and now I’m better and for some reason, skeptical bitch and all, I have this strong sensation in my gut that it’s all you.

Thank you.

Keeping It Casual

This outfit doesn’t particularly stand out but the colors are cool enough to grab enough attention and keep me the least bit stylish when I feel like having a “day off” from all the dressing up.

I’ve been a very lazy person lately- especially around the time before my birthday and so dressing up was particularly hard to do. To combat the laziness, I tried incorporating brighter colors and keeping it laid back with a neutral colored cardigan.

I’m not sure if it’s still ok to wear white denim skirts nowadays but I got it as a gift so I figured I’d use it anyways. It was perfect for creating a girly, sophisticated look and my Sanuk sneakers really brought my whole look together and made me feel like I was ready for a date at the park. (date jud! oha!)

To date, this has been the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever put together.

What’s yours?

Weddings Make Me Sad

Tonight I realized that there might be something very wrong with me.

I don’t have a “dream” wedding.

No dream ring, no dream color scheme, flower arrangement. Just a dream dress and a dream thank you speech but that’s just it.

I have no standards in life and this makes me feel less like a woman.

I’ve honestly dreamed of my dream life and career than I have of a wedding.

Oh God, I’m going to die alone… Dammit.
