Pugs Not Drugs

Posting my second look from Cebu In The Bag that happened a couple of weeks ago.

To see my first outfit AND a special give away from Go Rage socks, check out the link [[here]]

[Leather cap: Gaisano Tabunok| Pug shirt: The Chillout Project| Boots: SM Department Store| Denim shorts; Red Girl (department store brand)

For the second day of the event, I wanted to show off a more laid back side of me so I decided to come in denim shorts, a men’s shirt and lot of attitude. Also, I figured that my choice of clothes for the day were weather appropriate since it was either really hot or really cold and this outfit worked well with both (weather).

It’s not very often you’ll see me on my blog sporting over sized shirts and denim shorts simply because I like to keep that type of depressing out of the interwebs. Let’s face it, sometimes a shirt and shorts aren’t the most fashionable of things but with the right amount of accessorizing and styling, any plain and dreary outfit can easily be turned into one that’ll make you stand out loud and stand out proud!

I’m a very anti-fuss type of girl which means I like to stick to my staple pearl earrings and leather watch but, there are other articles of clothing that I don’t mind upgrading and down grading when the occasion arises.

For this particular outfit, I wanted the main focus of my outfit to be around my Pug shirt from The Chillout Project. I decided to match it with equally attractive accessories like my leather cap and boots which I felt, brought my entire look together by adding lots of attitude without being painful to look at.

Lastly, I made sure to put on some dark red lipstick to add a little femininity to this testosterone filled outfit. Amazing how clothes and make up can’t do without the other. #itsamaaaazing

On other news, catch me every Thursday on Magic 92.3 from 10:00 pm – 1:00 am with DJ’s Tom Candy, The Smurff, Suzzaaay and I for Happy Endings.

We like to talk about a lot of random things and I try not to open my big fat mouth too much. Paolo likes to listen 😐

Sock Game: On with Go Rage (+ Giveaway)

Happy weekend everyone! Posting the outfit shots I wore during the Cebu In The Bag event I participated in a couple of weeks ago.

See posts here and here

To be honest, I was really nervous during the days leading up to the biggest event I have ever participated in as a blogger. I was very concerned as to how I would present myself to my readers (that’s you guys- hiiii!) while being comfortable enough selling my items while at least trying to be “weather appropriate”. The bi-polar season has finally begun!

Since it was a 3 day event, I decided to be as versatile as I can in a span of a few days. And since the party kicked off on a Friday Flyday, I chose to show off a more playful and not to mention, colorful side of me (that is rarely caught on cam)!

Halter top: Forever21| Shorts: Department Store find| Sneakers: Converse

One particular item of clothing that was quite hard for me to incorporate (but was totally worth it!) were my Go Rage socks that I snagged at the #HyperCebu event.

More and more often, I am finding myself surrounded with men of all ages sporting uniquely printed and colored socks. And although it is a trend that is becoming more popular among guys, I felt like I had to give a woman’s’ take on it and at least give it a try! Luckily, Go Rage has a wide, unique and playful variety of tie dyed socks that any gender can easily fall in love with- my weapon of choice? Piña Colada.

Now for the part that you’ve all been waiting for! I’ll be giving away a pair of socks of your choice from the Go Rage collection and all you have to do is:

People I Love: Cebu Fashion Bloggers

This photo was taken about 2 months ago before we bid adieu to our favorite Chic In The Tropics, Eden.

I’ve been publicly blogging about fashion for about 3- 4 years now and these people have been there through every URL name, event, hiatus and feature that I’ve encountered along the way.

You’d be surprised how important it is to have a strong support system not only when it comes to blogging but in life as well. I always tell people that it’s crucial to be surrounded by people who understand you and your goals, who support you (even if you’re not always on the same page. As long as your goals are rational) and who you feel brings out the best in you. We are all surrounded by toxic people who want nothing more in life but to see us fail but like the saying goes, if someone is trying to bring you down- they are already below you.

The people in this photo are only a quarter of us who compromise our CFB family. We are all busy living our own lives with most of us trying to make our marks in the world whether it be through our love for fashion or with our opinions and daily thought musings. But busy or not, these people would easily stop what they’re doing to take a quick outfit shot while sharing a lot of laughs in between! 🙂

Love you all, no matter where God places us! :*

Prim But Not So Proper

Adding some drama to a work filled weekday with some overly saturated pictures and fierce poses!

Hope you like them!

A bit sentimental over this outfit post since it’s the last shots I have by my Yaya, Chris. Now our new maid takes my outfit shots or I pay my little brother P20.00 when he’s around. #toomanybloggerproblems haha

On a more fashionable note: YES! to spikes to make any outfit stand out. And a bigger YES! to structured skirts to add more shape and dimensions to a plain pencil skirt.

Have a good rest of the week, loves!

Issa

[Photodiary] #CebuInTheBag Days 2 & 3

Happy Monday everyone!

I wasn’t able to update everyone on Saturday and Sunday… I hope that doesn’t make me a bad blogger!

First of all, before I entertain you with a visual fiesta of what went on during days 2 and 3 of Cebu In The Bag, I want to give a biiig thank you to those who went all the way to The Outlets at Pueblo Verde to support the local fashion bloggers and the Manila bloggers as well. I started this blog out of my frustrations in college and it’s been about 3 years since then and I can’t believe that I am able to do things such as a meet and greet! The best part about all of this is really getting to meet you guys at last!!

So here are some of my photos and photos that I was able to pick up off social media accounts. Will update when I have more!

DAY 2

With Gizelle and Rabsin my CFB loves!

Day 3

Didn’t get to take that many pictures during the last day because I was busy getting my shopping on and talking to the other vendors and bloggers. But don’t worry! I’ll be posting my outfit photos this week and I’ll go more in depth about my experience. 🙂 I just needed a proper entry to photo dump hence this post!

I’m blogging in between work and if my mom finds out, I’m dead meat. So bye… for now!

Love you all,

Issa ❤

[Photo Diary] #CebuInTheBag Day 1

Hi Everyone! I just got home from Day 1 out of 3 of the Cebu In The Bag: Celebrity + Blogger Food and Fashion Bazaar at The Outlets in Pueblo Verde in Mactan.

It was a very productive first day and I’m happy to say that a lot of my items were sold and I can’t wait for tomorrow to meet more of you guys and also to invite more people to check out the blog! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a lot of pictures of my customers/ readers because

1. I was too shy to ask for pictures

2. I was busy eating and

3. I was pre-occupied with the loom bands I was playing with.

BUT here are a few of the pictures I did manage to take and a little more information if you’re hoping to visit us tomorrow!

Something Blue & Something Borrowed

Happy Independence day, loves!

I just came back from doing a radio hop for Cebu In The Bag which is TOMORROW (@The Outlets at Pueblo Verde, 4:00- 10:00 pm) which was very exciting!!

I’m getting ready to go out and do some last minute shopping for the 3 day event but before I do, I thought I’d make a quick blog post of what I wore last week.

I am soo in love with this Mango top that “Santa Claus” gave me for Christmas last year. As much as I’d give anything for a cheap buy, I have to admit that investing on pricier basic pieces is always a good idea. I’ve had this top for about 6 months and I’ve probably worn it more than any of my other tops. It’s so comfortable, versatile and classy- I love it!

Other basic pieces I think one should really invest on:

1. A white button down shirt

2. Tank tops that can be used as inner pieces

3. Bras

4. A nice, sturdy bag

Structured skirt: Gillian Uang #HyperCebu find

Clutch: Coach

Thanks Jean for this cute illustration. For anyone who wants their looks done, feel free to contact her! 🙂

Issa

The Short Suit

I’ve been really into matching sets lately just because it saves me the hassle of having to decide what to wear when I have no time at all. I wore my first “short suit” here and I’m fairly enjoying been able to wear it as a set or as separate pieces.

My only challenge when it comes to wearing matching pieces is how to wear them again without it being too noticeable. For my previous outfit I mix it up by playing around with cover ups and that usually does the trick but with this particular piece, I can predict a challenge so I’ll have to get back to you and let you know how it goes.

I’m guessing that I can play around with my other key pieces like my inner top, shoes and accessories… but that’s for another blog post 😉

My absolute favorite pieces in this look are my over sized round sun glasses that I got from Ziya and my hand-me-down Burberry tote (similar herethat I recently got from my mom. It’s a bit worn out but I appreciate the gesture, nonetheless.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really had a thing for bags. I’ve never gotten myself a bag that I’ve really liked so I’ve kind of given up when it comes to that department. My mom however LOVES bags (not as much as she loves me… on most days) and I solely depend on her and her hand me downs. I am never disappointed though because she has an awesome collection and I’m always glad to take what she doesn’t want anymore. It’s true, one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure! Next time, I hope she gives me some of her watches. Mehehehe!

Short suit: Citiwear| Chiffon blouse: Forever21

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about starting my own online ready to wear business which will feature my designs. It’s still in the works but once I’ve finally got everything together, you will definitely be seeing it here!

In the mean time while I’m still being fickle minded, this June 13- 15, 2014 you can buy my pre-loved items at The Outlets at Pueblo Verde! The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be hosting Cebu in the Bag: The Island Madness Sale featuring the Philippines top bloggers: Kryz Uy, Camille Co, Lissa Kahayon and David Guison. This project aims to unite all industries to bolster tourism and propel Cebu as a shopping destination in Asia. And why not? Cebu is known for so many beautiful things in terms of fashion, furniture, art and plus we live on such a beautiful island which will not disappoint.

It’s been such a blessed year for us fashion bloggers to come out and have an outlet to reach out to our readers. I am very grateful for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to meeting new friends, get some badly needed closet space and meet our countries top fashion bloggers! Here are some of the looks that I will be selling:

If you want to see more items that I will be selling on these days, please like my facebook pageI’ll be updating from time to time and showcasing more of the items that’ll be up for grabs!

Til then,

Issa ❤

Cebu Fashion Feature: Alex Eturma

I’ve known Alexandra Eturma, who goes by Alex E. (emphasis on the E.) for a long time. But not as long as she’s been sketching, which started at a young age where she would adorn her grandmothers’ office walls with.

She was probably around this age:

Photo: Miga ta ayaw ko patya hahaha

Stylish even back then 🙂

DesignAwards-Summer.jpg

I first met her in grade school where I perceived her as the quiet skinny introvert with a knack for art- I had a rude awakening. Fast forward to present times, Alex E. describes herself as someone who is chatty and energized at times and dreams of being a mermaid. I was head on about the skinny part, though. She says she cannot NOT eat at least every two (2) hours and that she’s a coffee zombie. I wish I had her metabolism. -.-

Identity-HippieAndTemptress.jpg

At 21 years old, she is currently taking up Fashion Design at the University of San Carlos and is gracing while at the same time, is being graced with the soon-to-be big fishes of the fashion industry of our motherland.

But I guess her love for fashion started at an even earlier age, having been influenced by Amber Heard, Rooney Mara, Kristen Stewart, Mary-Kate Olsen, Emma Watson and Pauline Prieto- all whom our generation has pretty much grown up with. So for her fourth year high school graduation ball, she did what every girl wished they could do and designed her own ball gown and she hasn’t stopped putting her creations to life since.

TC-HelloConcertAndFashionShow.jpg

During her academic years, Alex has been able to join Maribago Bluewaters Beach Resorts designing contest wherein they had to incorporate recycled materials into a design. With her love for mermaids in mind, she made use of used curtains, bottle caps, rope, nylon and a fishing net to create a beautiful mermaid-like dress which bagged the 2nd place. Recently, she also styled Sun Stars Back to School Special, showing off her amazing styling skills. I was definitely grinning with jealousy at that article. HAHA.

MaribagoRecycledMaterials-2ndPlace.JPG

Alex dreams of taking full advantage of her prowess in terms of fashion and art. She plans on owning her own boutique, retail in RTWs and even lingerie! Aside from that, she aspires to become a freelance photographer, stylist and even design and sell furniture at the same time. That’s definitely a well thought out of future, friend! If you thought that wasn’t enough, she also dreams of owning her own drive-in theater that shows old movies.

Wanderstruck-Amsterdam.jpg

With all these things under her belt, Alex still believes that “you shouldn’t try too hard.” In her opinion, if you’ve got, you’ve got it and that you shouldn’t worry about getting it right every single time. Spoken like a true blue trooper!

Wanderstruck-Paris.jpg

So what does this wide eyed dreamer do on the side? You know, when she’s not making plans and dreaming of Europe, living in tiny villages there, taking lots of pretty pictures, buying local fabrics and making great friends? Easy. She enjoys listening to music, watching old movies, chilling at Cafes, thrift shopping, sketching and/ or cozying to a good book! When she’s feeling adventurous, she enjoys going on long drives while playing loud music with her friends and loved ones. But of course, there always has to be food. We can never forget that!

CAFAWeek-Steampunk.jpg

Alex E. is definitely living my dream life. She’s got the talent and she’s making her way to the top with her evident talent. With practice, hard work and dedication- it won’t be long ‘til she’ll be walking the ramps of fashion shows and getting everything she wants in life.

By the way, she also wants a tiger 😉
