I like to mix food and fashion, with food being an unknown and completely new passion of mine… until I gained 10 lbs. But believe me, I have been trying to work it off. (I am soo close!)

I especially love it when my look matches the interior of a restaurant making it completely relevant to take advantage of a beautiful establishments interiors like the one’s at District on 53rd.

Their long list of menu choices might overwhelm you at first but their chilled food section might be a good place to start especially if you’re a more visual person.

Plus, their selection of ice cream is heavenly so if you plan to skip dinner, at least consider dessert!

Like District on 53rd’s interior, I decided to mix a few uncommon pieces of my own together for this look. Chiffon and lace definitely make a good combination but what about your decade old favorite pair of Chuck Taylors?

It probably wasn’t the daintiest thing to look at I’ll admit, but it felt good to be able to infuse clothes I’ve been struggling with and something I am familiar with. You can still create something beautiful out of opposites.

A Tribute To Photographers feat. Nick Santos Photography

_DSC6946

Sharing my second set of photos, this time with photographer Nick Santos.

I made the decision late last year to open up my schedule more to different photographers who are interested in doing photo shoots with me. It was a risky decision for me to make but as much as I love having my photos taken by friends and my helper, I also had the desire to try different forms of art not only involving fashion. So far, I feel like I made the right choice as I’ve not only been able to expand my network, I have also been able to express a more creative side of me which I’ve been suppressing for so long. I’ve been able to try out different shoots and concepts and at the same time, learn about photography and pick through photographer’s brains to understand their works and what to them is art.

One thing I think it is important for me to mention is that, it is important to me that each person I work with feels entitled to their own work and not like they are working for me. I have worked with a few photographers who have the perception that bloggers are diva’s or elitists and will treat you like they own you and although I’ve never met a blogger that actually acts that way, I cannot say that they do not exist. However, as someone who appreciates not only the gestures of having your photos taken but more importantly the art, I will tell you that I understand that that’s not the way things go. When I work with other artists, I make sure they are comfortable and they are able to express themselves creatively and appropriately.  They have full control of their photos and may edit them as they want to and are free to post them on their portfolios- I also allow them to direct me and share ideas of how to make a photo come to life. Basically, I try to learn from them and hopefully, we learn from each other.

I consider myself as an artist with fashion and my body as my tools of choice. Photography backdrops and lately, film have both inspired me a lot and have also kept me extremely busy and although I don’t really know where these passions will take me in the future, I understand the hard work put into it which is why I respect it.

I have been so blessed to work with quite a handful of reputable photographers in my city- some who are still here and others who are spreading their work around the world and I cannot wait to work with more. I might not say this that often but if it weren’t for you guys, this blog would have never come to life!

So thank you, thank you, thank you to every single person who’s shot me and helped me grow in this industry.

If you’re starting a new hobby- have enough passion to fuel your soul and you will go places. Never allow anyone to take you for granted and never lose the drive to do something you love. You’ll go far!

Feel Like A Princess at Café Cómodo

Tired of being stuck in the Mandaue traffic with little choices of getting a quick coffee fix or a good meal while waiting for the roads to clear out? At Café Cómodo not only will they soothe your hunger pangs, you can also expect nothing less than a royal treatment. 2016_0216_04552100Located at the North Atrium building along Briones street in Mandaue, Café Cómodo offers a lot more than just a good meal and refreshing cold drinks. For P 300.00/ person, their resident photographer will take 10 photos of you while printing your best shot as a souvenir. You can even choose 1 out of their large selection of dresses, shoes and accessories imported from Korea to complete your look making it the perfect package for those who are hoping for a cheaper alternative to your pre- nuptial, debut or OOTD shots.

For those who want to rent their gowns for their special day, you may also do so at various prices ranging from P 2,000.00 above.

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js2016_0216_03463800  //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js2016_0216_03471500

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js2016_0216_03461100

And when you’re done playing dress up, treat yourselves to their delicious meals and drinks that are not only delicious but well worth the price. To be completely honest with you, I was really impressed with their generosity in servings in consideration to their prices. Each meal is equally filling, their flavors are unique and new to the palate which makes it even more worthwhile. Among all the dishes that I was able to try, it was the Chicken Mayo and the Cream Cheese Halo- halo dishes that really stood out for me. It’s a perfect place for neighboring students to spend their study sessions at or professionals to hold quick meetings.  With the growing number of Korean based restaurants and cafes, I think that Café Cómodo stands out with their unique concept, designs and product offerings which in a way makes up for the traffic that you might have to endure on the way there. But parking spaces are widely and easily accessible in the area which makes up for it, in a way. Here’s a quick run through of what I had there://embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js2016_0216_03565800

Roadsides and Coffee Breaks with Griffith Salomon

Griffith #

Been sporting a lot of black lately in different kinds of fabric, textures and designs. I’m not going to lie, it makes me feel skinnier and it saves me a lot of time from having to decide what color goes well with which.

For this shoot, I got to play with my feminine and naturally sports side while enjoying a good ol cuppa Joe in between. Many will argue that you cannot be feminine in an all black ensemble but I disagree- you can be anything you want to be with the right mix of clothing and of course, the right attitude.

Sunday’s Best

2015_0129_20005700

Sundays are known as the ultimate rest day when nobody feels like dressing up or… getting out of bed in general. So this Sunday look that I put together is something that is easy to put on, move around in and get everything done for the week up ahead.  Plus, it’s a good cover up if you’re nursing a hang over from the weekend but don’t want the world to know your sins. LOL.

Every lady needs a good girl look. For me, this is it.

Roof Top Gardens and City Views @ Cafe Terraza, Car Car

DSCF5976

Now that Sinulog is over, it might be a good idea to take a break from the heavy partying and the wild traffic from the city and head down South to this beautiful rooftop garden cafe located in the heart of Car- Car city.

I’ve always loved the South because of its beautiful beaches and scenery but we’ve always have a hard time finding somewhere to rest our tired feet and enjoy a good cooked meal. At Cafe Terraza, not only do they offer delicious food but they also serve coffee, blended drinks and desserts.

DSCF5939

DSCF5945

Located at the 3rd floor of the RRG Building, on top of 711 & Mang Tinapay, you will find this quaint little hide out that has easily become a favorite hang out and date spot for the local Carcaranions. With their freshly blended drinks and food, you’d be surprised at how little you have to spend for such an amazing view and experience.  It is especially beautiful at night time!

Cafe Terraza is a project of love by one of the most important people in my life, my boyfriend! Being Car- Car based for the past 2 years, he wanted to give the city and the locals a place that they can enjoy and what better way to do that than through coffee?

Cafe Terraza proudly uses the finest brands available in Cebu from the coffee beans, to the syrups and the ingredients used to create each hearty plate served to every customer. I spent an afternoon here one November day and here are my unbiased thoughts about my experience:

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5974 Everything on the menu is less than P120.00 (including meals)//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5960

Cafe Latte @ P 60.00

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5643 Strawberry Kiwi Frost @ P 105.00 Other drinks include: Green Apple, Kiwi, Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Banana, Peach, Red Berry & Raspberry @ P 100.00//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5955

Beef spaghetti @ P 120.00

Other pastas include: Carbonara, Tuna Arabiata, Chicken Arabiata @ P 120.00

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5947 All Day Breakfast Longanisa & Eggs @ 100.00 Other breakfast includes: Bacon & eggs, spam & eggs, ham & eggs, pork tocino & eggs, corned beef & eggs @ P 100.00 //embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.jsDSCF5964

Warm cookie/ brownie cup @ P 50.00

Also try their sandwiches at P 70.00 & P 80.00

I really did enjoy all the food that I was able to sample during my short trip to Cafe Terraza. The food was freshly made, nothing from the microwave (except the warm brownie cups) and the servings were very generous. My favorite drink so far has got to be the smoothies while I did enjoy the pasta!

Please do drop by and share some love! Cafe Terraza is open from 6:00 am – 2:00 am everyday!

See you there,
