[VLOG] Meiko Cosmetics Naturactor Cover Face Concealer Make Up Review

YEY to make up reviews! 🙂

I’m no beauty expert but I know what works on my skin and I am ecstatic to show you guys one product that I am 100% invested in right now- Meiko Cosmetics Naturactor Cover Face Concealer!

So just to go through it quickly for those who do not have time to watch the video, here are my pros and cons of this product.

PROS:

  • It’s lightweight
  • You don’t need to put a lot of your face which means, this tiny container will last you a really long time
  • It has great coverage
  • It affordable (P550.00- P650.00) at Let’s Stylize
  • It’s made from safe ingredients

CONS:

  • DEBATABLE: The smell. It doesn’t really bother me though some have described it as having a granny-like smell. Whatever that means.

Naturactors come in 5 shades and I am currently using the 151. By the looks of it, you would think that since I am on the fair side that I would be a 141 but it’s pink undertones don’t quite fit my skin tone. I actually do have the 141 and the 151 and you can see the swatches and difference in the video.

shades

I would definitely recommend this product for women who have uneven skin tones and can’t seem to find a concealer that they’re truly happy with. I find that this product is very good and you don’t need to use a lot of it to get the coverage that you want. I’d say that make up wise, that’s definitely been my struggle over the years especially during really warm weathers… but not anymore. 🙂

For your own Naturactors, feel free to get in touch with Let’s Stylize!

Til the next,

Beating Time with G- Shock & Shockwear

I’ve recently been given the opportunity to be one of the ambassadors of G-Shock’s official distributors, Shockwear located at The Outlets at Pueblo Verde and as you’ve already seen in a previous post of mine, this post was done about a month ago and will be used as marketing collateral for the brand.

G-Shock has been around for a while already and are popularly known for being the ultimate tough watch. Way back when, it was designed with the intent to create a watch that would never break without compromising an attractive design. Fast forward to today, the G-Shock watches are known for just that, durability and also a unique structure- definitely what people want in their watches!

Since G-Shock’s are well sought after, it is no surprise that imitation brands are everywhere! Sure, they’re a lot cheaper as compared to the original versions but fake watches will never make you appreciate the brand for what it really is. That’s why it’s important to make sure that you’re purchases are genuine  and are bought from official distributors like Shockwear.

Check out their collection below:

[VLOG] Behind The Scenes with G Shock & Shockwear Watches @ The Outlets at Pueblo Verde

https://youtu.be/DAksqGQIDKM

G Shock and Baby G watches have been in my blood ever since I was a little girl. I fondly remember their 90’s designs and using the detachable rubber stoppers as “braces” because 1. I thought it was cool and because 2. I was a pretty gross kid. HAHA. (please tell me I wasn’t the only one who did this, please!)

So when I was asked to be the ambassador for G- Shock from their official distributors, Shockwear, you could only imagine my utmost delight.

Here is a short BTS vlog from the wonderful day I spent checking out and shooting with the brand. Stay tuned (subscribe, bookmark, follow) for the final photos which I will be releasing on the blog soon.

A special thanks to the Pixie Dust Creations team for always taking care of me and for always keeping me in mind.

Check out Shockwear at the Outlets at Pueblo Verde for authentic and affordable G Shock apparel.

Sometimes A Tita

DSCF9620

Lately a lot of the people I know have been referring to themselves as tita’s and as in denial as I am, I too, believe that I am at a certain stage of tita-hood. *shiver*

It may not be apparent in my choice of hair color or the words that I use but in little aspects of my life, there is definitely a little bit of titaness in me. I make sure I always have alcohol/ sanitizer in my bag, I care a lot more about how I carry myself and I take care of my health more than I ever did. Does that make me a tita or just an adult? Meh.

Tita or no tita, I am still in love with this look that I put together for an afternoon with my siblings. It’s chic, sophisticated and most of all, it’s comfortable. With this heat wave, I can no longer bring myself to compromise comfort over style otherwise I would die.

Uniforms

DSCF9564

It’s an unusual uniform for such unusual weather but to be completely honest, I would rather be sweating in an all black ensemble than anything else. It seems to be the easiest thing to throw on lately especially now that I’m hardly ever in the mood to go out much less dress up.

If I look back on my previous posts, I realize that I have never really been a summer dresser as I prefer layers and lots of them. So as much as I love a good beach day, rain and lots of it does not seem like a bad idea right now.

Also if you’re wondering, this is what my hair looks like exactly after a month. I am planning to bleach it the third time (soon) in order to achieve another color which you will all find out about in the very next future.

So sweating aside, how’s your summer?//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Konnichiwa from Make Your Own Havaianas 2016!

MYOH 2016

The annual Make Your Own Havaianas events hold a very special place in my heart, having been a staff for the very same event 3 years ago! And this year, they are back it and are featuring one of my dream destinations- JAPAN!

ArtuNepo6D1b_020611 edited 1

One of the hottest months of the year brings with it the biggest and most anticipated customization event in the country, Make Your Own Havaianas. From April 22 to May 1, step into a celebration of self-expression and creativity inside All Flip Flops SM Seaside City at the lower ground floor of the mall’s Mountain Wing and mix and match buttery-soft, colorful soles with vibrant straps and fun pins.

Havaianas was born in Brazil in 1962, but an interesting fact is that the very first flip-flop was inspired by the Zori, a type of Japanese sandal made of fabric straps and rice straw roles. Today, Havaianas flip-flops show marks of these iconic rice patterns, making it a fusion of eastern Zen and western joy.

ArtuNepo6D1b_020774 edited 1

Each year, MYOH highlights a destination or theme that celebrates its heritage or encapsulates the ‘always summer’ state of mind and on its 11th year, it is its Japanese roots that MYOH pays tribute to, from this year’s 2016 limited edition commemorative sole inspired by Shibori, a Japanese fabric-dyeing technique, to its selection of kawaii pins. With Japan being an all-time favorite summer destination of Cebuano Havaianaticos, embellishments such as the The Sakura, Ramen, The Japanese Fan, The Empress, The Zori, Ninja and statement pins, among others celebrate the love for travel and the land of the rising sun’s unique lifestyle and influence on today’s pop culture.

Hotel Rooms & A Short Rant On “Beauty”

DSCF9229

Just came back from my trip to Moal Boal where we spent our lovely and much needed trip at Club Serena where we were able to watch the whale sharks, the sardine run and the turtles. Along with that trip I was able to come home with wonderful memories and jelly fish stings all over my body! It was totally worth it and although I am itching uncontrollably, I am more grateful than I am angry. Maybe next time I’ll  wear a rash guard or a wet suit but that’s for another adventure *two weeks cannot come any sooner*!

Vacations are always a great time for me to insert scenic/ dramatic photo shoots because of the great scenery and new backdrops and even if I have to run back and forth to set my self timer. Yes, I take my own photos with the aid of my handy dandy tripod. So if you have one, use it and if you’re planning to get one make sure to invest in a sturdy tripod because cameras are expensive and there’s no point in scrimping out on your accessories.

A thought that came into my head as I was writing this is the issue of skin color and the fact that I am currently 2 shades darker than I normally am.

We live in a society where people adore people with fairer skin and think that being white or fairer is the equivalent to beauty. They try so hard to get that look and invest so much on whitening products and stay as far away as possible from the sun. If that’s what you’re into then fine, I’m not going to judge you but at least have the decency to respect those who are not afraid to get a real tan.

I’ve always been a morena, even if most of my relatives are fair skinned. My mom is white, my dad is white, my siblings are white and I am not. My grand father, who I looked up to greatly growing up and my aunt who won Miss Cebu Tourism in 1990 have the same skin color as I am and growing up, I looked to them for confidence when everyone was telling me that I was getting too dark and that I shouldn’t stay under the sun to play tennis, swim and all the activities I involved myself in growing up. They were proud of their color, they never let society define them and they succeeded and are continuing to succeed because color is not proportionate to what you are and what you can achieve.

I’m not saying to disregard sun block and soak up in the sun because these products prevent cancer, burn and premature wrinkling among other things- I use them when I can and I will continue to use them because I believe in taking care of my body. What I am saying is to not look down on anyone who does not fit your personal beliefs of beauty because we are all beautiful in our own ways.

I’ve been called numerous things for being a morena like a farmer, a negra, poor, ugly and I’ve had people choose fairer people over me because to them I was not worthy of their attention/ affection and worse respect. Yes, it hurt but I never wanted to change who I was because of these small minded opinions and neither should YOU.

Love yourself first before you allow anyone else to love you and if you’re a morena living among people who think you need some gluta, papaya soap or to lock yourself in your room then you don’t need them because you’re fabulous the way you are! ❤
