Issa FINALLY Gets To Travel!

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it but I’ve always indulged in summers quite late as compared to the typical April- June summer schedules. Because our family supplies uniforms and merchandise to different companies and schools, summers are spent in preparation for the upcoming school year.
It helps that nothing truly eventful happens during my summers (since I don’t like being a part of crowds anyways) and that most of my family is from the States and they visit me sometime during July- September.

Why am I telling you this? Because it’s my blog and I can write anything I want, duh. ? but besides that- I FINALLY GOT TO TAKE A VACATION!!!

The last month and the upcoming months will be filled with traveling and I am so excited to share them with all of you! Here are some posts that you can expect in the coming posts:
1. Things To Do In The South of Cebu Part II

2. The Most Touristy Things To Do In Bohol

3. Taking A Road Trip To Dumaguete & Bacolod

4. Everything You Need To Know About Lakawun Island
5. Traveling To Taipei (October)
6. Mati, Davao (October)
7. Coron, Palawan (December)

If you enjoy travelling and would like to know about our adventures whether with friends, family or your significant other, I would highly recommend that you bookmark/ subscribe to this blog, subscribe to my youtube channel and follow me on Instagram.

Also, while I haven’t left for my other trips yet, let me know what you would like me to include in my upcoming entries and I’ll try my very bestest to include it for you!

Live long & Prosper,

Chevrolet Cebu Opens New Service Center

Chevrolet Cebu is finding more ways for vehicle owners to find new roads. In a step towards providing their loyal Cebuano customers with better services, they have recently opened their newest service center which is located at No. 2, 3rd avenue, Sergio Osmeña Blvd., NRA, Cebu City.

Their newest branch which is well hidden from the bustling traffic of the city offers customers with a 2,500 meter location enabling a wide number of clients to be catered, a mess hall where customers can grab a quick bite to eat and an air conditioned customer lounge.

This is Chevrolet Cebu’s second dealership with their existing branch being at MC Briones in Mandaue. The decision to open a second branch was primarily to accommodate a large number of their customers located in the south in Cebu.

Korean Beauty Brands, Baby Products & More! ft. KPop Beauty & Melange at The Concept Cove

If I had to point out a growing trend in Cebu, it would most likely have to be concept everythings (food, restaurants, stores) and Korean/ Japanese make up and beauty products. The latter has been so sought after that I recently shared my daily morning skin care routine which is heavily influenced by Korean skincare practices.

Recently a couple concept stores such as Concept Cove have been opening around the city, offering shoppers with more affordable shopping alternatives whether it be in terms of clothes, make up and accessories. Although this store in particular carries a very select number of brands, each rack and shelf has been carefully selected and placed in order to cater to every man/ woman’s needs.

During my visit, I checked out one very special rack, Melange which carries an assortment of baby products, travel essentials and beauty products from KPop Beauty. Check it out:

Here are a few of the items that I got to bring home to check out and review:

Drawstring bag,  3 in 1 travel pouches and passport holder

Happy Nappy Baby Cloth Diaper

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact

COW Beauty Soap (for whitening & moisturizing)

Assorted face packs

Truthfully this entry will not have as much output as usual as I still need some time to try out these products and create my own, honest opinions about each of them. I haven’t gotten around to starting it yet but I promise, once I’m done, you will know. Perhaps we could do a night time skin routine? :>

Find anything you like or want to try out? Make sure to follow Melange and KPop Beauty to check out more of their products, prices and offers!

10 Things To Do In Costabella, Cebu

I’ve been on work+ vacation mode for the past month, juggling work and play and play with work. I’ve been shopping for bikinis I can hardly fit into, pants to wear out on adventures and good shoes to take me to good places. I guess living in the Philippines does have it’s perks aside from it being sunny for almost the whole year round. lol.

As I was horseback riding in CDO a couple of days ago (*humbrag, I know), I asked myself as I stared into the sunset, “If I could live anywhere on this earth, where would it be?” and as I contemplated about it for a bit, I came to the conclusion that I would, even in a thousand more lives, still choose home- the Philippines.

Cebu, specifically, out of the 7,000+ islands to choose from is and will always be my favorite island because everything is in a great proximity. The beach, the mountains, the city and the provinces are never too far away and traffic can always be evaded. Plus, in beach resorts like Costabella Beach Resort, even if you’re not there to enjoy the water, there’s always something else to do.

Here’s a quick list:

  1. Unwind at the spa. My little trips to resorts are usually spent out on the beach rather than at spas but it’s always a great option especially when night has fallen. Lema Filipino Spa has conjoined rooms if you want to get a group, couple or an individual massage.

2. Bask on the beach. If the spa isn’t your thing, hit the beach and explore the ocean or get a tan under the palm trees. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, try out Costabella’s water sports activities such as jet skiing, banana boats, parasailing and more!

3. Swim in the pool. If you’re not a huge fan of the beach, you can always chill by the pool while sipping on a tropical drink. Pools are always a great place to unwind especially if you’re bringing along a little human with you plus, Costabella has a child-friendly slide that they will surely enjoy.

4. Play at the gym or kids room. There’s a place for either grown ups or kids to hide away, relax and/or play. Leave your little ones at the kids room that is fully air conditioned and equipped with activities to distract your little tyke for hours while you can sneak in a quick work out in between meals and beach time at their gym.

5. Explore their #instagramworthy spots. For the everyday Millenial whose Instagram must be one point, there are a different hundred different spots for you. Costabella is full of quirky, artsy and nature-y spots that would be great for your next post. (but don’t take my word or you know… these 100 photos. HAHA!)

6. Relax in the room. After a long day under the sun, it’s always a good idea to freshen up and trust me, Costabella’s rooms were meant for more than just that. With fluffy beds, gorgeous bathrooms and a great view- it’ll be hard to leave.

7. Dine at La Marina, Brisa or Luna. What’s a perfect day at the beach without some hefty meals in between, right? Costabella has 3 restaurants to choose from each with their own selection of food and services. La Marina, the resort’s main restaurant which is perfect for a casual ambiance encourages guests to relax, unwind and indulge in their wide selection of food. Brisa, which is situated by the pool area offers an al fresco Pan- Asian dining experience. If you’re a romantic, you can also request the resort to assist you create a romantic candlelight dinner. And lastly, Luna, which offers Spanish Tapas and refreshing cocktails and spirits has the perfect ambiance to relax, meet new people and even enjoy some Philippine local artists’ work.

8. Hold a meeting/ convention. If you’re looking to throw a special event, a conference or event a convention, Costabella is the perfect mix of work and play as they offer different amenities perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for open spaces, a boardroom, wedding venue or just a place to hang out with your loved ones, Costabella has the perfect nook for you!

9. Ride around in style. There are so many spots to explore and discover at Costabella and what cannot be done on foot can always be done by bike! Roll around the resort on their bikes that are free to use for visitors and find yourself a secret hideout.

10. Play! There are so many things to do at Costabella and when you’re done playing in water, you can also play billiards (at Luna), ping pong (beach side) or volleyball (beach) and more.

For information & reservations at Costabella Tropical Beach Resort, check out their website.
Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay updates and promotions.

Have a great time!

[VLOG] April 2017 Daily Vlogs

I have discovered the simple joys of daily vlogging!

Some of you may say that Issaplease has slowly become a dump of a lot of things but in my honest opinion, Issaplease is an extension of who I am and I’ve realized that as I grow older, your need to document and remember things are no longer limited to fashion, food, where you travel and who you hang out with but also the little memories like what you ate for breakfast and saying “I love you” to a special someone. I document these things because I want my future children to see them and see what our lives were before them and well, it’s always nice to reminisce the good ol days.

I hope you enjoy this!

Ukulele. Food. Travel: Uke Hub Kafe, Mactan

Mactan, other than it being an entry way for visitors into our beautiful island, is a great representation of what Cebu’s culture is really like. With most of the beaches being on this island, it would be no surprise how much of an influence music plays in our culture. After all, we have been recognized time and again for our outstanding craftsmanship when it comes to guitar manufacturing.

When it comes to Cebu and guitars… or in this case, ukuleles, there’s one particular brand that comes to mind- Susing’s Guitars. This humble yet extraordinary establishment has been creating top quality guitars and instruments since 1990 and have now  decided to create a hub for travelers, locals and lovers of music and food here in Cebu!

Uke Hub is located along the airport road of Mactan (across Ricos Lechon) and is the perfect place to chill, listen to good music, learn how to play a new instrument, spend a crafty afternoon, dine and drink!

As I spent an entire afternoon there, I pictured myself as a backpacker waiting for my next flight out or me and Paolo drinking coffee and gushing over their wide selection of ukulele’s that you can even take out and play.

THE FOOD

They offer a few meal variations such as pastas and sandwiches which are freshly made and are absolutely filling! I was able to sample the lasagna and Hungry Harry’s sandwiches specialty piece, the Cubano Cebuano, and I was left wanting more… which is completely fine though cuz I totally brought that sandwich home with me 😉

Lasagna – P 120.00

Cubano Cebuano – P 165.00

ACTIVITIES

Our visit, more than to check out the place and try out their food, was mostly to indulge in an afternoon of craftsmanship and merry making. In more appealing terms, I actually went there to paint my own Ukulele and actually learn how to play it! 🙂 It was such a relaxing afternoon with my friends from the media and the best part about it, was that I got to go home with my very own Ukulele! If you want to see/ hear me play it, check out my podcast here.

Uke Hub also offers these design your own ukulele sessions and playing lessons at a very reasonable fee of  P1,000.00 including art supplies and your own ukulele so you and your friends can spend an afternoon getting crafty and learning to play them after.

Before

Posing with our finished products with Kiddie Rodaje & Carlo Olano.

Make sure to follow Uke Hub Kafe on Facebook and Instagram to get details about any upcoming shows, craft sessions, meal & drink additions and more! ❤

Being Cooked Alive in Samboan, Cebu- Cebu’s ONLY Kawa Hot Bath

Am I getting better at naming my blog entries or what? Heck, if click bait works…

I haven’t really gotten around to posting ANY of my travel blogs/ vlogs until last night when I decided to just get it over with. Note to self, do NOT try to edit a vlog while drinking with friends… you will f*ck up. In this case, forget which file you edited with the right background music and end up uploading the WRONG file. haaay. But anyways…

Paolo & I made a trip down South a couple months ago to visit Cebu’s only Kawa Hot Bath. It’s about 5 hours away from the city which you would think would be excruciatingly and painstakingly long but is surprisingly fun, given that you’re with people who don’t drive you insane.

It was one of those weneedtogetoutofthecityandspendsomeQT surprise trips so if you’re hoping for prices & useful information unfortunately, I don’t have any of that. But I have pretty semi decent photos! #thatssomething

Fantasy Lodge houses Cebu’s first and only kawa hot bath which otherwise can be found in Tibiao, Antique. Just by the looks of it, the kawa is literally an over-sized pot which is used to help one relax and unwind by having one sit in it while it is filled with water, essential oils and flowers. All throughout the process, the heat is monitored and kept at a certain heat so you need not worry about being overcooked while you’re in there (haha).

For more valuable information, check out their Facebook page.

That is all my brain can handle for today,

Issa P.
