It could be in the form of a dog eared note in your favorite journal, a blog entry, a photo, a prayer or any means of acknowledgement.
I have always loved the water, (warm water in the shower, specifically) having been a competitive swimmer and mermaid in my past life. Also, I have always wished to take my diving adventures more seriously and to one day try out surfing. But due to time and financial restraints, I haven’t had much time to do both. But like I said, when you project the things you want into the world, it often tends to listen, maybe not in the exact way you would have wanted but in surprising and even better ways, nonetheless.

I was lucky to have been invited to shoot again with Roger Cas and Christian Tan (whose work I will be featuring in another post) earlier this year, where we were able to work around with a few things that were meaningful to us: art, photography and the ocean. DID YOU KNOW that the pattern of white spots are unique for every whale shark or that the hairy frog fish is called as such because it walks like a frog on surfaces?DID YOU KNOW that populations of many species are decreasing at an unsustainable rate, and the number of species listed as endangered from marine life families such as whales, dolphins, manatees and dugongs, salmon, seabirds, sea turtles,and sharks to name a few, are on the rise. Marine creatures are equally, if not more, vulnerable to problems such as habitat destruction and over exploitation. Shallow water animals that breathe air, like turtles, manatees, dugongs, and whales are often hit by boats and caught in fishing gear. Species such as turtles that lay their eggs on land often lose their nurseries due to coastal development. Animals that have taken millions of years to evolve, that are invaluable to all ecosystems, have and continue to vanish from places where they once flourished. As pretty as these pictures are, it is also a reminder to everyone to take care of the ocean and the life that lives in it. I’ve only seen a few of these majestic creatures in person and I would hate to one day have the to face the harsh reality that I may never be able to because of our careless and irresponsible actions. It’s one thing to love the ocean and want to explore it but it’s a completely different thing to actually do something about it. Don’t litter, make sustainable seafood choices, avoid purchasing items that exploit the marine life and above everything else- educate yourself about the ocean and what you can do to help protect it.//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js

Had an awesome Sinulog weekend even if I skipped out on the festivities on the day itself.
If it were up to me, I would have partied on Sunday as well but then again doing the groceries was so much more fun. I am not even kidding!

Last December I was asked to be one of the ambassadors for the upcoming Islands Souvenirs Cut & Style campaign. As one of the ambassadors, not only did I get to join a photo shoot, I was also asked to walk to runway with other local personalities during their annual fashion show.
Being my first time to walk to runway, I made sure to capture every moment I could on video for you because some things are just better to look at moving!

Now that Sinulog is over, it might be a good idea to take a break from the heavy partying and the wild traffic from the city and head down South to this beautiful rooftop garden cafe located in the heart of Car- Car city.
I’ve always loved the South because of its beautiful beaches and scenery but we’ve always have a hard time finding somewhere to rest our tired feet and enjoy a good cooked meal. At Cafe Terraza, not only do they offer delicious food but they also serve coffee, blended drinks and desserts.
Located at the 3rd floor of the RRG Building, on top of 711 & Mang Tinapay, you will find this quaint little hide out that has easily become a favorite hang out and date spot for the local Carcaranions. With their freshly blended drinks and food, you’d be surprised at how little you have to spend for such an amazing view and experience. It is especially beautiful at night time!
Cafe Terraza is a project of love by one of the most important people in my life, my boyfriend! Being Car- Car based for the past 2 years, he wanted to give the city and the locals a place that they can enjoy and what better way to do that than through coffee?
Cafe Terraza proudly uses the finest brands available in Cebu from the coffee beans, to the syrups and the ingredients used to create each hearty plate served to every customer. I spent an afternoon here one November day and here are my unbiased thoughts about my experience:

I really did enjoy all the food that I was able to sample during my short trip to Cafe Terraza. The food was freshly made, nothing from the microwave (except the warm brownie cups) and the servings were very generous. My favorite drink so far has got to be the smoothies while I did enjoy the pasta!

Nothing speaks of a good ol traditional Cebuano meal quite like lechon does. It doesn’t even matter if you just had lechon the other day, the reality is: if you see lechon, you’ll eat it. And lots of it. Because you are a Cebuano and it’s in your blood. You love it.
My most recent discovery of lechon places is Tatang’s lechon which is located in Lahug, across Pino restuarant. Having been my second time there, I was quite surprised to have missed their awesome menu during my first visit, which are different Filipino dishes that have been incorporated with lechon. It was very interesting to have had lechon wrap, lechon flakes, lechon with bagoong (my FAVE!!), lechon in lumpia and many more! Definitely something worth trying if you’ve had your fair share of lechon over the holidays but still don’t want to deprive yourself of this wonderful delicacy.
