A Lazy Girl’s Guide to Halloween Dressing

Halloween is just around the corner and just in case you’re reading this 2 hours before deciding to actually go out on Halloween this year and there’s not enough time to decide what to wear then you’re welcome!

I absolutely LOVE Halloween especially because it’s a couple of days before my birthday so I’ve been throwing costume parties ever since I can remember! This year I decided to tick my costume ideas post a little earlier so I can go ahead and concentrate on other things that are soon to grace this wonderful website. #progress

So here are my “lazy” costume ideas for this year’s Halloween festivities…

Continue to celebrate this year’s NBA champions by showing off your love for this awesome team. Or, if you’re a fan of any other basketball team then throw on a jersey and show off your team spirit! Generally, all you need is the necessary merchandise and a glow ball to complete your look. It’s simple, easy AND you have an excuse to wear sneakers the entire night!

I got this costume from my little sister who decided to go as Kanye West during one of her costume parties. It’s a good reason to wear an all black ensemble and it’s pretty funny to carry a crying Kim Kardashian with you everywhere you go. Plus points if you can find someone willing to be your very own Kim K. for the night. Costume idea here.

Lastly, you can also opt to go as Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. Honestly, I could have done better on the sewing job but this is “a lazy girl’s guide to Halloween dressing” so props to me for even trying!

Today I got the dopest email ever

I also made my first personal vlog because I’ve been watching too much JK and the crew (geo, gina, bart, jkparty- you name it, I’ve seen it!) and I think it would be a cool way to document my life. Nobody uses camcorders anymore and there aren’t such things as home videos either so this vlog can be something I can show my kids when we’re older. Char, kids dayun.. dili pwede fans lang sah? HAHAHA.

Soooo yeah. I just wanted to talk to someone because it’s 11:30 and I just woke up from a nap and there’s nothing to do and I really don’t feel like talking to anyone… I just want to talk.

I get so confused with what is appropriate clothes wear for someone who’s not quite an adult yet but doesn’t wanna look like I’m trying too hard to dress younger than I actually am. Everyone I know is either getting married, having babies or building an awesome career and here I am, wondering if it’s still ok to wear a crop top at 24!

But all jokes (oh, that was a joke?!) aside, I have finally found a look that can finally get on my level. Also, these pants are the best things that have ever happened to me.

//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js This look has been my ultimate beacon of style over the past few weeks. I am able to move around freely without the hassle of my clothes sticking to me when I get sweaty, it’s light weight and it’s age appropriate.

Plus to top of all this comfort, I make sure to carry around my favorite Eos lip balm and body lotion that I got from Zalora to keep my lips and skin hydrated through out the day. Talk about ultimate comfort!

I hate my body right now and I’m not going to lie. I feel the pressures to be skinny especially when people around me constantly poke fun at me, joke about me being pregnant or point my weight gain out as a new form of hello. I hate people who say, “Hi Issa, you’ve gotten so fat now!” In my head I’m saying, “Oh hey, and you’re still ugly!” Ugh.

I’ve always been a fit girl. No, not skinny- fit. I used to have so much time to run and do all my sports but with my new lifestyle and career, I find myself stress eating rather than working out. I know it’s not an excuse but I’m just saying it like it is. If you’ve noticed, I haven’t agreed to having my photos taken as much as before because my arms are more manlike than ever, my clothes have gotten too tight, I have a bulge of a 3 month old pregnant lady and as of last week, none of my bras fit me anymore. I can’t even put on a sports bra without losing breath.

I know everyone has their own perception of beauty and my issues aren’t about what number I’ve reached on a scale, it’s more of how beautiful I ought to feel on the inside. If I were to love my body as much as I say I would want to, shouldn’t I want to give it only the best by only eating right and living a healthier life?

Big talk from a girl like me, I know. Flaws and everything.

But I’ve been spending the last few weeks of being 24 doing a lot of thinking and I’ve realized that I can’t just sit around moping. If I want something, I need to aspire for it; work for it; attain it and maintain it.

I don’t need a Victoria Secret model’s body, I just need to fit into my clothes again. I need to stop finding excuses to not get things done and actually do them. Most of all, I need to stop getting sick! I need to start loving myself and actually showing this love by treating myself right and then maybe I can start loving everyone else. Or just the ones that ought to be love. jk.

I know I’m not the only person going through this right now which is why I decided to post this. It’s kinda tacky and it’s a haven to hate comments but everyone is always going to have their own opinion. I’m not happy with myself, so I’m going to change it. Not for anyone else but for me.

Tee Tuesday’s @ Elated Industries

Growing up, all I ever wore were graphic and statement shirts so being able to incorporate them in my wardrobe now not only hits close to home, it gives me a much needed break from my currently filled with chiffon and spandex wardrobe.

I first heard Elated Industries earlier this year where I even blogged about them here. Back then, they did not offer apparel for ladies but I am so happy that I finally get to enjoy their products through their Tee Tuesday’s offerings where they release a new graphic shirt every Tuesday.

I’m not as much as a traveler as I would have wanted although I do intend to fix this problem very soon. Hong Kong, being one of the first places I’ve been to other than the States and some parts of the Philippines, was a bit hard to dress for. The reason why I am only posting 1 ootd out of the 4 days that I was there is because I spent those days walking around in shorts, a shirt and sneakers or slippers.

I really underestimated people when they said that we’d be doing a lot of walking so if you haven’t been to Hong Kong yet and you’re planning to, make sure to pack your most durable and comfortable shoes and make sure to wear socks!

Not a lot of advice (yet) when it comes to what to wear or what to pack because we all know that I am not a pro. However, if I were to impart you with any bit of knowledge, I do make sure to bring the following every time I travel, even if it’s just to Manila:

1. Nipple patches (because no countries wants to see your bra straps)

2. A jacket/ scarf

3. Sneakers

4. A hat that does not take up so much space

5. Hollywood tape

It’s hard not to fall in love with cupcakes especially when they come in pretty designs and taste better than they look. My sugar intake may be limited but my sweet tooth gave in to temptation one too many times with this box of red velvet cupcakes from Douce Amor Pastries.
