It finally feels like all my dreams are coming true.
I feel like everything I have worked and dreamed and prayed so hard for has led up to today and everything is finally falling into place.
It’s almost as if all the stars have aligned and decided that I would be the one they would bless. Of all the souls in the universe, it actually chose me.
Little Issa would never believe it. I never would have thought.
It’s just happening but if I allow it to, it WILL happen. I must allow it to happen.
I grew up thinking that waxing and getting yourself pampered was more of a luxury than it was a privilege. Spa dates, whole days spent inside salons were not something common in our family and unwanted hair was dealt with by razor and blood. (leave an amen if you’ve ever shaved your skin to the bone!)
Now that I’m a little bit older, services like waxing and threading are a lot more convenient and affordable especially at places like No Strips Waxing Salon. At P100.00, you can already get your eyebrows threaded which means, I no longer have to deal with untamed brows and mean comments like this:
Hilas kay’s ate but in all honestly, she’s not wrong! LOL
By invite, I took a quick trip over to Robinson’s Cybergate, which is 1 out of the 3 branches they currently have open.
I was pleasantly greeted by shades of ruby reds, midnight blues and whites accompanied by British accents which is the interior theme for this branch. During one of the many conversations I had with the owner, Ms. Farrah, she shared that London is the 2nd place in the world where hair waxing is most common, hence, the theme. The first being New York, which is where their 3rd and newest branch is located.
It was a nice cozy theme which was an interesting alternative from the standard white walls with pastel accents that most salons are accustomed to. It made me feel more laid back and less clinc-y which, I would say, was a nice breath of fresh air.
I was then greeted by their staff, who were one of the most accommodating and entertaining bunch of women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. My session felt like a breeze because we were so immersed in our conversations which was a great pick me up on my part as I really do not enjoy lying down to get work done. I’m so used to doing stuff and lying down makes me anxious but this time around, I barely noticed the time go by.
I was scheduled for lower leg waxing, underarm waxing and eyebrow threading. On my socials, women and men were blasting my inbox asking how my session went and if I was willing to guinea pig myself to their Brazilian waxing service and report back to them with answers. Yes, I will be back and yes, I will tell you about it so make sure to subscribe to my social media account for updates on this.
But in the meantime, here are some things that you should know about the services I got:
1. No Strips Waxing salon uses cold wax that is similar to putty, but is sticky.
2. Each waxing session is followed by a threading session to remove any stray hairs which were not removed by the wax.
3. Even if there isn’t a lot of hair, waxing is still a great way to exfoliate your skin of any dead skin which may cause irritation.
4. Aftercare instructions are given to ensure the best condition of your skin post wax session.
No Strips salon is currently located at Raintree Mall, 2nd floor of Robinson’s Cybergate & Basement 2 of Robinsons’ Galleria.
In celebration of their 1st year anniversary, League Sports Bar sent over the famous Dumaguete based singers- slash- rappers, Midnasty, who popularized the song Lame to party with them. Being a huge fan of them myself, I couldn’t pass off the opportunity to rock out with them during this event.
I know this is only a short vlog but you honestly had to be there to feel the music, the passion and the love during this night. If you’ve never heard their music before, make sure to check them out because their art is dope.
Also, I had my photo taken with Nik Kho and he is a cutie!
Camping in the great outdoors was something Paolo & I had being discussing for quite some time now. Late last year, we, along with a bunch of camping avid friends were finally able to experience a short but sweet camping trip at Dwight’s peak which I featured here and we were immediately HOOKED.
Looking back on the video and the post itself, I realize that I was too drunk to even have the decency to share our experience or yet alone provide any useful bits of information in the entry so consider this as my way of making up for it. snicker, snicker.
It was during that camping trip where we learned that camping outdoors is more than just having a tent and bag- we had to equip ourselves to survive sleeping in the wilderness, preparing and cooking meals and the like. Without being willing to spend so much on camping gear, we turned to Lazada (not an ad) and though we had a million doubts about whether or not the quality would be good, we still had high hopes and was eventually able to put them to the test during our 2nd camping experience.
Of all the items that we got, the only things I regret buying at the portable tableware sets and the retractable folding cups not because they aren’t useful but because I feel like if I made a trip to Daiso or any P99.00 store, we could have gotten it a lot cheaper. If you want to find out more about what I think about the items I got, make sure to check out my vlog above.
For our second camping trip, Paolo & I were hoping to find a place we could camp at that wasn’t too much of a safety hazard. With it being our first camp without any friends, we couldn’t take any chances. Much to my delight, Paolo was able to discover Foressa Trails , which is a development under Aboitizland which offers hiking, biking & camping options to outdoor enthusiasts. With various activities to choose from, we were mostly excited that they had bathrooms, showers and a washing area aside from security. Not that we’re prudes or anything but these amenities make it easier to introduce our friends and families to camping without overwhelming them too much.
Here are some photos of the area and the rates, should you need them!
Hope you enjoyed this and that it inspires you to explore the great outdoors!
Oppo’s first release for the year 2018 is finally out and not just with a sizzle but with a big, bad bang!
Retailing at only P9,990.00, the Oppo A83 Smart Selfie is an affordable mobile phone that offers all the features of any high end phone for a quarter of the price.
Check out its key specs:
With features like AI Beauty Technology, a 5.7″ full HD screen, 3 GB RAM + octa- core CPU, 3180 mAh battery life, dual sim and expandable memory options it makes you wonder, what else is this phone capable of doing?
Box contents: Silicone case, headphones, micro USB 2.0 charger, adaptor, cellphone unit with tampered glass already attached & manuals (not in photo)
FIRST IMPRESSION:
SIZE. Being a fan of large screens, I was initially impressed by the screen size, slimness and how the unit fit snugly in the palm of my hand. It’s also a very slim phone so handling it is really no problem at all.
LOOK. As seen in the contents of the box, the unit already comes with an attached tampered glass and a silicone case which I think was a very thoughtful gesture.
In terms of color, the Oppo A83 only comes in either champagne or black which made me yearn for a little more options but nevertheless, these two choices are still pretty good options.
BUTTONS & JACKS. There are no buttons in the front of the unit while there are 3 buttons located at the sides of the unit (lock & volume buttons) which honestly feel a little bit flimsy and there is also slot for your micro SD card and 2 sim cards. At the bottom of the phone are the speakers, a micro USB 2.0 port and a standard audio jack. (YEY for standard jacks!)
OVERALL. In terms of the look and the feel of the unit, there’s really not much to complain about and if you’re looking for a sleek mobile phone, this is as good as it gets!
TURNING ON THE UNIT.
Again, the unit has a 720×1440 pixel display and a 5.7″ screen which is pretty clear. Based on my initial use of the unit, I noticed that the colors where vivid, allowing me to distinguish smaller details and gradient designs.

CAMERA
Since this is called the “Smart Selfie” phone, I couldn’t let my initial review pass without testing out the selfie camera itself. Now, I forgot to mention above that the phone does come with two cameras in the front which should indicate better selfies but aside from the impressive hardware, it also comes with A.I. Beauty Technology which based on the video below, is a feature important in capturing the best version of yourself.
Here are a few of the selfies that I took using the selfie camera. Please note that this was done in the evening under florescent lights.

FACIAL RECOGNITION
What got me the most excited about this phone is it’s Facial Recognition feature which was a breeze to set up and even use. As you can see in the video, I had no problems at all setting it up and there were no issues during actual application of this feature.
Over the week that I had the unit with me, I was able to really test it out; figure out what I liked and what I didn’t like about it and try out every feature of the phone which I will be sharing on my user review within the week so if there’s anything you’d like to ask me about the phone, feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

Rise. Resist. Unite. This is an artistic uprising.
A fashion secret of mine whenever I want to look like I tried but really didn’t is to overdress. By overdress I don’t mean by wearing a gown to the mall but instead, wearing statement pieces casually. A long dress? Skip the heels and sport a cute cardi. A full length skirt? A white tee. Just because you bought a piece just for a special occasion doesn’t mean you can only wear it then. If that were the case, would you even ever wear it again?
Sometimes dressing down = dressing up. Especially if you’re me. And you’re lazy. Which also means you’re me.
