Btw, i got caught smoking this week and it was the most embarrassing thing ever. i mean, i always knew it was wrong. i always knew that it would go against what they’ve told me not to do but for them to be disappointed was just a whole other story.

i always knew that they put me on a pedastole  [why can’t i spell this word?!] and i always thought that somehow, in some ways it had to do with the fact that i’m not their “real” daughter. that somehow, i had to do better because i had to prove that i belonged to be a part of this family- that they didn’t make a mistake by not leaving me with my dead beat dad. and for them to say that i disappointed them, i was kinda shocked and hurt. i mean, they have their points but, i AM a good daughter and i do everything for them but i guess smoking was just something i did for myself. It was something that i did for me because i’m practically killing myself with nursing which they literally demanded me to do. and despite knowing that with my heart condition and blah blah blah, i still smoked because it was MY escape from everything. when i didn’t want to talk about it, when i didn’t want to think about it, when i didn’t want to think about anything. it was something i did because i wanted to rebel. And i guess i wanted to rebel because it made me feel alive when most of the time i felt dead. i know, it’s lame. it really is but that’s just how i function. I’m better off not sucking on suicide sticks anyways. i’ve always known that.

Point is, because i don’t want to disappoint them, so i won’t smoke. even if it’s been killing me and if i have this cough that i get when i try NOT to smoke. and even if i’ve been depressed and withdrawing myself from everyone and everything. and it’s only been 4 days. you can kill me if you want. they smoke in hell, right?

btw. i like to draw but i am no good. 😐

JUST drugs

my mom keeps insisting that i’m on drugs because:
1. if i’ve lied about not smoking, i can be lying about doing drugs
2. because i’m always hungry and i am constantly eating but i hardly gain weight [which is a LIEEE!!]
3..because i had a nose bleed. AND ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH:

In most cases the cause is unknown. The other causes of epistaxis are as follows:

Localized infections- vestibulitis and sinusitis and dried mucus membranes in the nose.

Injury- repeated injury from picking the nose, blunt injury or fracture of the nose.

Narrowing of the arteries (arteriosclerosis)

High blood pressure.

Disorders causing tendency to bleed: Aplastic anemia; Leukemia;  Low platelet count;  Liver disease;  Hereditary blood disorders such as hemophilia;  and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.

4. because i ACT like i’m high. i wouldn’t know how someone high would act but i’m guessing SHE does hence, the comment.

and because of her persistency… i have considered actually taking drugs because i want to shut her up. hahaha.

NOT.

and it’s been day 2 of my not-to-smoke-for-3-years-until-i-have-a-job-and-can-buy-my-own-cigarettes plan. but i’m hoping i’ll grow out of it. not smoking forever sounds so… permanent and i don’t plan that far off in my life. i am a free spirtit. šŸ˜€

Thanks, but NO THANKS

I HAVE NEVER BEEN REJECTED SO MANY TIMES IN MY LIFE!!!

and i honestly hate it. and wtf, who wouldn’t?

Ok, so today was my second day of duty in Subangdaku [i love saying it!] and i hated it so much! Yesterday, sir Geñoso said that we’d only have to give a lecture to pre-school kids about the importance of hygiene. We allotted 3 hours of preparation for a 30 minute class which is really stupid but we’re lazy people so whatever plus, we really had no say in the matter cuz we’re only 5 second year students grouped with 14 third years who bore the hell out of me and have no personalities! If it was just us second years i know i would be doing a better job compared to my performance now…

ANYWAYS, so i was assigned to bring a CD player since i was in the sound something committee. But this morning before going to school, my papa told me to LEAVE the player cuz it wouldn’t work! So naturally i freaked out because… well, you have a brain, use it why don’t you? It was really hard to find a cd player at such short notice, so i texted one of the third years and she said it was OK cuz someone else was bringing speakers. Ok, they could’ve at least told me in advance!!! I mean, what if i went to the community with the player only to find out they were gonna use an iPod. GEEZ. and they have my number! i really hate them for that.

So i got to the health center and suddenly it’s a NEW instructor who changed everything and made us do a home visit and somehow convince them to come with us with their kids to learn about hygiene. I mean, these people may be poor but they have lives! you don’t just expect them to drop what they’re doing to teach their kids how to wash their hands, do you? I mean, sometimes a lot of these things don’t make sense to me. Sometimes people can be very inconsiderate and it pisses me off gyud. rar!

And since we had to do it in 45 minutes, all 19 of us were racing plus we use the buddy system so it’s time consuming. Point is that, i kept going up to different mothers asking if i could interview them and i kept getting the same answer- NO. i wanted to cry because NO ONE HARDLY SAYS NO TO ME 😦 [ok that sounded bratty] but really. UGGGH!!! And the worst thing is, we had to have our pictures taken with the family that we interviewed and invited. I got so desperate, i got an 11 year old boy and told him to tell people he was 6 if anyone asked and used him and his mom. 😐

i felt bad for the mom though cuz she’s a single mother of three who only finished the 4th grade. she collects garbage and washes clothes for a living and only makes 80 pesos the most a day which is less than my allowance per day. i get 250 for crying out loud and sometimes that’s not even enough for myself 😦 And to top it all off, she’s had a cyst of her breast for over 10 years now and she’s too scared to go to the doctor. i feel for these people. i just can’t believe people actually live like that. She doesn’t even have electricity and her meals consist of rice and salt on a regular basis. sometimes fish if she’s lucky 😦 i’m really thankful i don’t live like that and i really do wanna help them. hoo humm

moving on…. i hate MRS. YGNACIO. she looks like this:

i’m not even kidding.

1.

What is the law of demand?

Relatively less quantities of a good will be bought at a high than any lower price.

Why does a demand curve slope downward?

(1)   At a high price, buyers who cannot afford to buy the good drop out of buying. At a low price, however, more buyers can afford goods so more good are bought.

(2)   In the case of the individual buyer, a price increase, given a fixed income, reduces his available budget for other commodities.

(3)   At a high price, it becomes more attractive to buy other goods which are substitutive to it. This reduces the demand for the group.

What are the determinants of demand? What happens to the demand curve when each of these determinants changes?

(1)   Preference patterns – If preferences change so that people want to buy more of a commodity, at a given price, then there is increase in demand. There will be a fall in demand if preferences change again.

(2)   Changing incomes – Increasing incomes raise the demand for goods.

(3)    Effects of distribution of income – If a society’s income is highly unequal, some members of society (rich) may tend to have a demand of luxury goods that few of the citizens can afford. On the other hand, the poorer members may buy an array of essential goods.

(4)   Population change – An increase population leads to increasing demand for some types of goods

(5)   Changes in expectations – Expectations about the future may alter demand for a specific commodity.

Distinguish between a change in demand and a change in quantity demanded, noting cause of each.

Change in demand – Change of the goods needed due to changes in preference, income or change in expectations

Change in quantity demanded – Change in the quantity of goods bought at a given ranged due to change in income, population change, effects of distribution, etc.

2. What effect will the following have on the demand of product B?

A. Product B becomes more fashionable – The demand for product B will increase

B. The price substitute for product C falls – Because of the decrease of the prices; its demand will increase thus making the demand for the other products decrease as well.

C. Income declines and product C becomes an inferior good – Because of the decline of income, the demand for the cheaper good which is product B will increase.

D. Consumers anticipate that the price of product B will be lower in the near future – Because consumers expect that the prices will decrease, there will be a decrease in the demand while the prices have not yet changed. When it does, there is a possibility of a shortage because consumers will be racing to buy product B,

E. The price of complementary product D falls – There will be an increase in demand because as an expectation being a determinant, the consumers would want to make the most out of the products decrease in price and “hoard” these materials for future use.

3. Assess the effects of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the war on terrorism on the demand of the following items in the United States: airline tickets, gasoline, hotel rooms, books about Afghanistan and Arabic interpreters.

After the September 11 attacks, tourism in the United States decreased which lead to an economic crisis in their country thus leading hotels and infrastructures to lower their rates as well this included, airline tickets, hotel rooms and etc. The rise however, did occur in regards to gasoline, books and interpreters. Gas prices immediately shot up and suddenly people were interested in knowing everything they could about the Afghanistan attackers.
